Dr. Avery Jackson III, MD

Avery M. Jackson III, M.D. is a board-certified neurosurgeon, who completed his complex neurosurgical spine fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin in 2000.  He is a member of the Michigan Spine Surgery Improvement Collaborative (the first of its kind in the country) that partnered with Blue Cross to improve surgical outcomes across the state. He is the chief executive officer and medical director of Michigan Neurosurgical Institute, P.C., which he founded in 2004. MNI Great Lakes ECHO, which was founded in 2017, created the first Bone Health ECHO in Michigan, and the second in the world. The MNI Great Lakes Addiction Medicine and Chronic Pain ECHO is also the first of its kind in Michigan, created to address the opioid crisis and assist in the effort to save lives.

Caramarie C. Jackson, PA-C

Caramarie Brock, PA-C graduated with a Master’s of Science degree in Physician Assistant studies from Wayne State university. She has worked in a variety of specialties in the Metro Detroit area, until coming to Michigan Neurosurgical Institute in 2008. Since that time, she has become certified as a Fracture Liaison Service coordinator, through the National Osteoporosis Foundation. MNI has been in coordination with the National Bone Health Alliance (NBHA) Governance Committee, to help achieve the goal of 2,000 FLS programs across the country by 2020. Our Bone Health teleECHO clinic was launched in February of 2017 and the Addiction Medicine and Chronic Pain teleECHO clinic in October 2017, of which she is the Academic Coordinator.
